[TRAVEL] Gwangalli Beach, BUSAN, South Korea

Saturday, September 12, 2015
While browsing through my photos the other day, I realized that I had completely forgotten to post pictures from my trip to Busan in Spring of 2014. Well, better late than never right? I have always enjoyed looking at other people's travel pictures because they inspire curiosity in me. These days I am often home so when I see pictures of new places, I often feel motivated and I think to myself "wow, I never knew such a beautiful place exists. I want to visit there someday". I don't think my pictures are amazing but perhaps they will show you a new area which you've never been to before.

 Enjoy~

Some background info: Busan is one of the largest cities in South Korea. It's located along the southern coast of Korea. Known for their seafood and beaches, it's a wonderful area to visit. Although it's not as modern as Seoul, it does have shopping centres and a subway system. It also has a lot of street vendors and a traditional seafood market.

Gwangalli Beach is one of three major beaches in Busan. It's known for its urban appeal as there are many modern conveniences along it. You won't have trouble finding a place to eat dinner or rest at a cafe because these places completely line the coast of the beach.

One of the  major attractions of Gwangalli Beach is the Gwangandaegyo Bridge

The sand on the Busan beaches are super fine. I walked too close to the water and found myself completely sinking into the sand. Busan is really quite charming. The colourful houses and apartments make it unique from any other part of Korea that I've visited.

The water is really clean and clear here.

While waiting for the Gwangandaegyo Bridge to light up, my friend and I visited an Italian restaurant to have dinner. I got a cream pasta.

As the bridge lights up, more and more people show up on at the beach.

Many people come here to look at the bridge. My hands weren't stable enough to hold my camera. I envy this girl for bringing her tripod - although I feel that it must be quite a hassle to carry around.

Gwangalli Beach is one of the places I highly recommend visiting if you are in Busan. Although I visited in the Spring, many people still visited the beaches to see the Gwangandaegyo Bridge. At night the shops along the beach all light up. It's really romantic, energetic, and fun.

  1. Hi Chrissie,

Nice post about Gwangalli Beach. haha a tripod is always handy.

If you go to Gwangalli at night again, I would recommend buying your own seafood at the local market and then walking on over to one of the small tents on the nirth side of the beach where they will then prepare it for you, its a good experience. I have detailed it here: http://boundforbusan.com/2015/01/gwangalli-beac.html

I will be sure to check out your other posts.
