Experience Hauling from Sephora Online and What I Purchased

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

One of my sleepless nights lead me to browsing on Sephora. I haven't shopped there in a while because I was noticing a trend - I was never reaching for any of the makeup I buy from Sephora. This is because of two things:

 1) the makeup that I buy there is expensive and gave me the "look but do not touch mentality" as if it was art for appreciation only (example: Dior blush ($51 + tax CDN) - I've had it for a year but only touched it once or twice because it's so pretty I don't want to ruin the pattern).
2) the colours just don't flatter my skin tone as well as Korean makeup does (example: Tarte Blush palette: it has 4 blushes that ranges from nude to bright pinks to mauve yet I'm constantly reaching for my Etude House cookie blusher over them).

So why did I haul? Because I couldn't pass up on the deals.

Sephora Favourites: Draw the Line ($36 CDN)
The idea of getting three full size and three deluxe sample sizes from top brands was too good to pass at $36 CDN. (Never mind the endless backups I still have OR that I already own two of the six liners). After reading some disappointing reviews on the Smashbox and Stila liner, I'm not quite sure how I feel about this purchase.

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette - Native
I've always loved compact things that are great for travel and I've always wanted to try out the Flushed Palettes. This was a great deal at $18 CDN + tax. It was on sale and out of stock on the Canadian Online Sephora at the moment but still available on the American website.

Sample: Atelier  Cologne
 Although the scent does not last long, I really do like it.

Overall
Because my order was over $50 CDN, I qualified for free shipping. It took 5 business days for my package to arrive so I'm really pleased with that. The only let down was that one of the three free samples I chose was missing - Tocca Cleopatra. I was really looking forward to that scent but I don't think I will call them over it, as it was a free item.  I also recommend you to look for codes that you can use when you spend over a certain amount.  I think you are only allowed to enter one code per order. In my case, I was able to receive a deluxe sample (15ml) of the Lancome Cleansing Oil to try.

*I also used Ebates for the first time. In case you are unfamiliar with Ebates, it's basically like an online rebate. Sephora was having a double rebate event there so I was able to get 8% of the subtotal rebated back to my paypal account. If you have any questions about Ebates, you can ask me about it. The link is also in the side bar and no, I am not sponsored to mention either Ebates nor Sephora.

  1. Omg, awesome haul! I never bought stuff online from Sephora before, but... I think I should lOL. I get so overwhelmed when I go into the store, I never get anything. I'm like "omgomgomg" and forget what I need... and then just leave. -_-;
