A few months back, I purchased 3 of the Missha Eye Fit Stick Shadows, well... I've just purchased four more. These are seriously amazing and great for the daily person on-the-go. Just throw these in the bag, no need for brushes or sharpeners. These are so smooth and long lasting that at this rate I might just need all the colours.

Since my previous review, I've noticed that they're now selling this on the U.S. Missha website. There are some colours on here that I didn't see from the Korean websites. I purchased mine from Testerkorea.

The four colours that I purchase are: Spice Wood, Cocoa Drizzle, French Roasting, and Mochaccino.

I really like how the colour is on the end of the pencil. I store them upside down so that I know which colour I want. Did I mention these are twist ups? No need for a sharpener!

French Roasting: a matte dark brown

Cocoa Drizzle: A soft coffee brown with noticeable gold glitter

Spice Wood: a warm tone brown with slight sheen

Mochaccino: a cool tone gold -brown with slight sheen.

My thoughts on these haven't changed at all from my original review. They're amazing, budget friendly and out perform all my other shadow sticks. HIGHLY recommend!

[REVIEW] MISSHA EYE FIT STICK SHADOW

Hi everyone, it's been a while since my last blogs but I'm glad to be back with a review of something I've been really enjoying. Back a few months ago, I hauled a MISSHA Eye Stick with my Snoopy haul. I was a bit disappointed with the color that I choose because it was a good deal warmer than the promo picture.  HOWEVER, I actually came to really like the actual product and since then I have purchased two more to review!

I don't usually use eyeshadows because my eyelid space isn't that large and I don't really know how to work eyeshadow nor have the time to figure out the whole contouring thing. However, eyeshadow sticks have been a huge time saver! Although, I'd say I've used quite a few from different brands, these have definitely been my favourites.

The Missha Eye Fit Stick Shadows are incredibly pigmented and creamy. While I've started out with a shimmery shade, SVL01 Dry Lavender, I really appreciate that they've also got matte shades which are equally as creamy and pigmented.

PACKAGE

In terms of packaging, Missha has done a really good job matching the ends of sticks to the actual colour inside. I also love how it's a twist up. However, the lid does not close tight. It feels almost like it doesn't sit right. It's similar to how the NARs lip crayon packaging where you kind of just shove the lid on top. I have a major issue with this kind of packaging because I usually end up cracking the lid from pressing it too hard onto the pencil.

The tips of the pencils are rounded which makes it really soft and easy to glide all over the lids. 

COLOURS

MBR01 MAPLE HONEY: A cool tone, tan brown.

MBR02 SAND CASTLE: A matte, pinky brown (reminds me of Etude House BR401)

SVL01 DRY LAVENDER: A sparkly, warm tone taupe with pink shimmer. It's slightly got a hint of purple. Although the promo picture reminds me of Wet n' Wild's taupe in Silent Treatment, in reality it's nothing like it!

OVERALL

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first purchased this because Missha products are either hit or miss and these were pretty much dirt cheap. However, these truly impressed me. They glide on like butter (smoother than anything I've used so far) and with pretty solid colour payoff. After application, they can still be smudged and they're not completely budge proof if I rub my eyes, but if I don't touch my eyes, they stay really put. These factors make these my go - to shadows for everyday. I really appreciate how these have a variety of matte, shimmer, and glitter shades. I really recommend these! They make getting ready so much faster and easier.

[PROJECT] Depotting Wet N' Wild Trio Safely Without Fire

I've probably mentioned this tons of times but the taupe in Wet N' Wild trio is one of my favourite eyeshadows of all times.  Since I've broke two of these trios already in which the taupe shattered to fine dust (no kidding), I've decided it's time to depot it into a sturdier case.

Almost two years ago, I depotted a whole bunch of my Holika Holika shadows (link here). I'm going to do almost the same steps to depot the Wet n' Wild trio. The Wet N' Wild trios are a little bit more difficult to depot because they don't have the little hole at the back that the Holika Holika ones have. Most of the tutorials I've seen used fire to melt the plastic on the back to pop the shadow out. Although that may be the fastest way, it will cause a burnt plastic odour which I 'm not fond of. This tutorial requires NO FIRE, just a hot flat iron and a bobby pin. 

What you'll need: 1 flat iron, 1 bobby pin or narrow sturdy item, 1 trio case.
Tip: If you are using a bobby pin, it will help to remove the round bit on the longer end of the pin. 

1. Remove the sticker on the back of the case.

2. Turn on the flat iron and let it heat up. Then place the trio between the flat iron and let it heat up. Leave it on for a minute or so. You just want to melt the glue that holds the pans to the case not burn or melt the case. 

3. It's thanks to this lady, Zabrena, that I've found out about the little crevasses in the trios. Through these crevasses, we can pop out the eyeshadow pans instead of burning a hole through the back of the shadow. 

Here, I'm just locating the largest crevasse out of the four corners.

Be careful when you are pushing the pan out with your bobby pin. The crevasses are quite narrow.  As you can see my shadow actually cracked a bit when I was pushing the pan out. I just patted it back  into place and it was fine. 

4. Repeat the steps for the other two pans

5. Place it into your case. There are a lot of cases out there to chose from, like the popular ZPalette. However, in my case, I'm just reusing my Clio Eyeliner palette to store this trio with my Holika Holika ones.

[REVIEW] Innisfree Glow Liquid Shadow

What’s unique about this product is that it is one of the first liquid eyeshadows to hit the “drugstore” market. I know that just in the last two years, many of the higher end brands, such as Dior and Georgio Armani, have came out with their own liquid eye shadows. These liquid eye shadows have been quite a hit amongst consumers. Korean make up trends and products usually quickly follows any type of hypes so I knew it was just a matter of time before liquid eye shadows would start appearing in the Korean market.

Have you watched the KDrama Warm and Cozy? It takes place on Jeju Island and these lady divers remind me of the ones in the drama!

There are five colors in this range and they are all inspired by the earthly beauty of Jeju - for example, the rocks, water, greens and so on. Jeju is an island at the very southern part of Korea. It’s known for it’s lush natural beauty and is the source and inspiration for all Innisfree products.

Dabbed

Blended Out

Swiped 

#1 is a cool tone champagne color. It’s inspired by the soft sand of Jeju. I usually see this product being dabbed and blended out to achieve a light layer of shimmer – that is very subtle and natural. However, I find that you can achieve an almost foiled look when you swipe it on and just gently blend it out. This creates a more dramatic shiney look that I feel is perfect if you want people to really catch onto your eyes without being in their face.  I really like to use this on the center of my lids on top of a matte eyeshadow to give my eyes more depth.

I've swiped the product on the centre of my lids and blended out the edges.

When this product is applied, there is an odd cooling sensation. It only lasts a few minutes but you can definitely feel it. I think this cooling sensation comes from the wetness of the product because the longer you wear this eyeshadow, the less shine it has.  Also, you have only a little bit of time to smudge the product out. Once it sets, it's won't budge.

Overall, I think this is a really versatile product. I really like that it provides a lot of shine without being sparkly. Just a little bit will give you a sheer, slightly shimmery base but swiped and you have yourself a little bit of glam. I am really glad to have #1 and I'm thinking of getting #5 too. I love Jeju Island and I love how these colors take inspiration from it.

Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick Review

Going into Etude House always manage to turn a stressful day into a happy day. Perhaps it's the soft, powerful floral signature scent that wafts around or its sweet, pink, girly decor. There's just something about Etude House. Usually I head straight towards the new collection to check it out. They always have new things but other times when I've been in Etude too many times, I wander around to their permanent collections lines. That is where I found today's reviewed product.

Sometimes Etude House has the cutest packagings and sometimes it also has the most boring packaging and sadly this falls into the latter but never mind that because the actual product inside is pretty cool.  The Etude House Bling Bling Eye Sticks are simply eyeshadows in the form of a stick. There are around 5 or 6 colours from the permanent line although availability depends on each individual store.  I think the price was around 4 200 Won each.

I picked up two colours: #08 Ivory Baby Star and #10 Little Bear Star. They're both very wearable colours with a bit of shimmer and shine. I can wear these on a daily basis without people wondering if I'm going to a party. They're quick to apply in the morning or on the go. I'm not too fond of touching my eyes while I'm outside so these are perfect. Because they're sheer but buildable I can easily control how much colour I want to show up. They're great used on their own, as a base or to soften up a harsh eyeliner.

#08 Ivory Baby Star is a cool champagne colour with shimmer. I like to use this to brighten my eyes. The shimmer in this one is quite noticeable.

#10 Little Bear Star is a neutral bronzy brown colour. The shimmer in this one is not as noticeable as the shimmer in #08. It's a very easy to wear color.

Judging from the name of this product, you may think this is a very sparkly item. It's not. Despite it being called Bling Bling, I find that it's actually just a pretty shimmery item. The Aritaum Wannabe Longwear Shadow Sticks are much more sparkly. As you can see in the swatches above, these can be built up to a pretty opaque level. You may rest assure that no matter how much you apply, you won't look over done. 

Performance wise, these last pretty well on my oily eyelids. I see a bit of smudging by the end of the night but it's nothing serious as the colors are so wearable. I keep these two in my purse and I already have a backup :)

The Good:

Holika Holika Single Eyeshadow Review

Hi everybody, today I have a review on the Holika Holika single pan eyeshadows. They come in a wide range of colors , mostly shimmer, but I've only picked 6 which I am going to review for you today.

This line of single pan eyeshadows is called the Jewel lights which is why all the shadows have some kind of shimmer or frost to them - with the exception of SBR02 - which may have been added in as a blending out color. 

I'm very impressed with these shadows. The quality is quite comparable to higher end eyeshadows even though they are very affordable. They are very soft and pigmented. It has little to no fall out. They are easy to work with and easy to blend. I've never wore these with a primer and they still stay put for quite a good few hours.

The quality of the six I have are pretty uniformed with the exception of SBR03, I find that the black is a bit more dry and patchy than the rest of the shadows and I don't like how the blue shimmers fall off so easily. Other than that, they are by far my favorite Korean brand eyeshadows.

One thing to keep in mind is that, Holika Holika does not have empty palettes to store these in which is why I made my own using the tin case from Clio.  They are a bit of a hassle to carry around because they're small, even though they do come in sturdy individual cases.  They are easy to depot. SPK02, SBE03, SBR03

SPK02: a very pretty frosty light pink-peach

SBE03: a satin-frosty steel grey blue

SBR03: a matte black with blue shimmers - I notice the shimmers fall off easily, leaving just a matte black

SBR02, SBK02, SBK01

SBR02: a matte peachy-brown; tan 

SBK02: A satin bronze

SBK01: A warm-tone satin brown

What I Love About Them:

- affordable

- high quality

- pigmented

- soft

- pretty

- easy to blend

- long lasting, even without a primer

- comes in an array of colors

- cute sturdy individual cases

- easy to depot

What I don't Love About Them

- may be hard to find out side of Korea

- not available in palette form - individual cases can easily be misplace.

Score: A

All in all, I think these single pan eyeshadows are fantastic, especially if you are a lover of shimmers. 

If they continue to make more matte or satin colors with this type of quality, I will be sure to collect even more of them. Holika Holika should come up with a empty palettes for us to store them in, so we can collect more colors.

Haul of My First Week Back in Canada

One of the first things I did upon arriving back in Canada, was to hit search for all the cosmetic things I had wanted to buy when I was in Korea. Here are some of the things I bought. I doubt the list will end here. 

 1. Wet and Wild Eye Shadow Trio in Silent Treatment: I have purchased this before but the purple-taupe colour smashed into fine powder when I dropped it. Well, I dropped again and my favourite colour is slightly smashed again though not as bad as before.

 2. Maybelline Baby Lips in Strike A Rose: I loved the one in Cherry Lips, hopefully this will have a similar formula. 

 3. Tarte Off the Cuff Palette: There are 4 blushes in this palette and 1 bronzer. I've always wanted to try a Tarte Blush. I originally intended to purchase just one - Exposed but for one single to be $31 CDN compared with 5 for $50, I chose the palette - more selection and too great of a deal to pass up. 

 4. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart: I've heard a lot of raves about this and am excited to try it out!

5. Urban Decay Basic Palette - I've always wanted to look for the perferct mattes for a natural eye look and I think I've found them in this palette. I've wanted it since it first launched but there was no Sephora in Korea.  The only thing that bother's me is that the plastic case smells really strong and weird.. does anyone else smell that?
